This is a profoundly absurd show of force that could put Californians directly in harm’s way.

Flying live rounds over a busy highway without coordination between state, federal, and local partners isn't just wrong — it's dangerous. pic.twitter.com/irfg9SWuzY
Using our military to intimidate people you disagree with politically doesn’t make you look strong.

It makes you look weak.
It's reckless, it's disrespectful, and yet another action beneath the office of the presidency.

White House not communicating, endangering the public, and then trying to blame the Governor for doing the right thing — keeping people out of harm’s way — yet another day living in Trump’s authoritarian America.

But the scaled-up LIVE MUNITIONS being fired today over a major freeway is a public safety risk. There may be a parallel somewhere in American history, but I can’t think of it.
Due to extreme life safety risk and distraction to drivers, including sudden unexpected and loud explosions, a section of I-5 will be closed for a period on Saturday, October 18.
This decision comes at the recommendation of traffic safety experts at the California Highway Patrol.
Because of the Trump Admin’s plans, drivers should expect delays on Interstate 5 and other state routes throughout Southern California before, during and after the event
Trump mark 2 is just about as corrupt, mean spirited and dumb as I expected but I do find myself somewhat amazed at how utterly childish it is. We now have official government accounts on Bluesky posting memes of Schumer and Jeffries as princesses as a "response" to No Kings.
ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself I’m supposed to be afraid of these people. But, like Charles Holloway in “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” I just keep laughing at them.
DeleteIt’s the only way. They’re only scary when you take them seriously.
