I don't give him that much credit

Trump isn't playing five-dimensional chess here.  He's not even playing checkers.  He has no strategy, he's just denying reality because the pain of reality is too much for him.  Pay attention to how few people are cowed by his remarks anymore.

Even if he does want to contest the election, he'd have no idea how to do it.  Who would he put in charge of that project?  Jared?  Ivanka?  Don, Jr.?  "I co-authored a book called How to Rig an Election."  A book you know Donald Trump has never read, and wouldn't understand if he did.  This man can't organize a two-car funeral, he can't begin to get the machinery of government to respond to a pandemic, he can't manage anything more complicated than a three-tweet twitter broadside, and he's going to suddenly find the administrative skills to challenge an election outcome?

It is to laugh.

The purpose of these tweets is to allow Trump to function.  Period.  End of discussion.  It's the same reason he keeps slandering Joe Scarbrough (which are too disgusting to re-post.  If Twitter has any policy on removing tweets, those should be removed).  Don't forget Trump tweeted this yesterday:

Everybody praises Trump, but nobody gives him credit?  The first half is pure fantasy, ego assuaging fiction, the second half is how unfairly he is treated, how he always needs an enemy to fight.  The statements contradict each other, but that doesn't matter to Trump (it should scare the bejeesus out of the U.S. Senate, but that's another matter).  There's no strategy there.  That's pure madness.  That's a man with no grip on reality at all.  And today he shifts to his other favorite fantasy:

States like Texas will find they've reopened just in time for the second wave, which is expected to hit, oh, about Father's Day.

Have a nice summer.
