who is the person in charge of telling the CEO of a company who his deputy general counsel is.

The general counsel, you may say (if you are being incredibly generous)? That person was fired on day one https://t.co/ZKNTYqZ7C9

Baker was doing the job if general counsel. If he hadn’t, it would be both a dereliction of duty and expose him to at least a professional ethics investigation by the licensing authority. Since he did, he lost his job./4 I also get the vibe that Elon didn’t know that Jim Baker worked for him, or who Jim Baker was. Possibly he thought he was an actual baker for like warm cookies for staff and fired him for that. I mean, the Post ran a big hit piece on him when Twitter hired him.
— Popehat (@Popehat) December 7, 2022
Yeah, you’re right; nobody cares about that./2 I’ll give Taibbi this: he shows a screencap of a key email, even though his spin on it is dumb and it demolishes his narrative. HE just knows his idiot audience aren’t reading that carefully. https://t.co/RJezXmYZ4K

Oh, we’re not through yet.The scandal here is that Elon Musk discovered who his company's deputy general counsel was six weeks after he purchased it. pic.twitter.com/vGgKrHcOHv

Piecing together new Taibbi revelations, it seems like Musk just thought Baker was dep genl counsel. But then Taibbi/Weiss see the name and inform him that Baker is totally a character in the Trump/RussiaRussia/Greenwald/EliLake cinematic universe. Musk says oh no and fires him.

Wait, what happened to the Twitter files scandal?pretty telling what a clownshow it is there now if "everyone involved" was "surprised" that the company's dep general counsel was involved in reviewing documents prior to release. https://t.co/cwXypO27N9

company's top lawyer reviewing documents before releasing them to journalists. this is truly shocking. this should totally be part 2 https://t.co/USYaE1nBm1
— Josh Marshall (@joshtpm) December 7, 2022
Yeah, that’s much more interesting.“Only discovered this on Sunday” pic.twitter.com/XiWSKMOOM3

This was my reaction. Who *didn’t* know Jim Baker was the GC of Twitter (besides Taibbi, Bari Weiss and (checks notes) the new CEO)?? These people are so effing dumb https://t.co/pt317h4yyj

Wait! You mean rich people aren’t smarter than the rest of? Or necessarily smart at all? O, my whole understanding of reality is crumbling!I still keep coming back to how on earth did someone as dumb as Musk make this much money? https://t.co/LafmMNcPMa
