Conservatives Are Holding Onto McCarthy Opposition

The fourth roll call, vote — first of the day — just started, but Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) already has seven votes cast for him.

As a reminder, if McCarthy loses more than four Republican votes he will fall under the 218 votes he needs to become the new House speaker.

So, ballot four will likely end with no conclusion on who the speaker will be once again.

Rep. Donalds name was put into nomination, and he voted for himself. McCarthy is turning this process into his walk of shame.
