The Pecksniffian Contingent

Um...
DOJ indicting Hunter Biden is unprecedented. Never before have federal prosecutors, part of the executive branch, filed criminal charges against an immediate relative of the sitting president. Shows a remarkable commitment to the principle that, in the US, no one is above the law

The “rule of law” is strained to the breaking point by a charge, made twice from the same set of facts, that Hunter Biden was misleading on a form he filled out to purchase a gun; and illegal possession of a firearm. Questions of judicial economy and best use of prosecutorial resources come immediately to mind.

Not to mention his lawyer’s argument that the plea agreement on these charges is still in effect, as any contract would be.

This looks a lot less like the rule of law, and a lot more like a special prosecutor trying to justify his office. John Durham brought more substantive charges, and he got poured out in court in quick succession.

I’m sure when Hunter’s lawyer wins this case (at further cost to him), it will be another sign of the conspiracy between the POTUS and the judiciary.
