Lindsey Graham: "I don’t intend to call the FISA judges ‘do you think you were hoodwinked?’ That is uncomfortable for me. But I am going to ask Roberts ‘would you please look and see what happened?’ because I don’t want to lose the FISA program."— Steven Dennis (@StevenTDennis) May 2, 2019
No, this didn't start as a tweet (that's Trump's modus operandi), but it lives and breathes because we think governance by tweet is a thing now.
It isn't, by the way.
Graham calling Roberts to get him to oversee the FISA courts is cute, since Roberts has no authority over even the 8 other justices on the bench with him, except to decide who will write the opinions on their cases (well, the first draft opinion). Roberts is not Chief Justice of the judicial system, he's just first among equals on the Supreme Court bench. (And if Graham never calls, whose gonna know? Is Roberts likely to confirm or deny the conversation?)
And if this doesn't happen, or Roberts takes no action, Trump will do what? Suspend the FISA courts with a tweet? Get a bill through Nancy Pelosi's House that guts FISA, or rewrites it entirely? Yeah, right after NAFTA becomes whatever alphabet soup acronym he calls it now.* Which still hasn't passed, and does Trump care? He thinks he's getting 400 miles of border wall by next Christmas.
Congress must change the Immigration Laws now, Dems won’t act. Wall is being built - 400 miles by end of next year. Mexico must stop the march to Border! @foxandfriends— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 1, 2019
Saying it doesn't make it so. DOD has a contract for 40 miles of wall, the only contract that's been let, and it hasn't started yet. Original finish date was October 2020; it may be Christmas, at this rate. The rest of what Trump promises won't go 10 times faster.
So what is Lindsey gonna do? Say "Fuck" at Nancy Pelosi until she succumbs to his manly powers of speech?
I am so over this shit. Street theater has more meaning than the pronouncements of these morons. Even paying attention to them is paying them more than they merit.

It could happen....
And yeah, there's a tweet for everything:
Trump’s biggest hurdle to USMCA trade deal passing Congress is the GOP, which won’t budge as long Trump’s tariffs are in place. Senators met with Trump today, who is unmoved.— Burgess Everett (@burgessev) May 2, 2019
