Does Trump want to destroy entirely the chain of command, and so the backbone of the U.S. Military? I have no idea whether or not the C in C has the legal authority to block the Navy from ejecting Gallagher from the SEAL's, but whether he can or not, he shouldn't even make it seem he might try.
This is 25th Amendment level stuff.
Every day it's obvious that the Republicans are willing to burn down everything to maintain their power, everything. They are an actual, in English, n America fascist party. It has happened here. The question remains if it will stay that way. As you note below, NPR is in. I have to wonder how far CNN was in on the blackmail interview with Zelensky that Trump and his inner circle were arranging. My impression is that CNN was fully in on it. And then there's FOX and CBS and ABC.
ReplyDeleteI think this shows us that the "free press" isn't the protector of democracy, if it is allowed to, it will be fully in on destroying it on behalf of its owners, its investors and advertisers, its highly paid staff and its paid consultants. Jonathan Turley hopes to be a future Giuliani, obviously.
