  1. It ain't over. I think it might be more or less permanent. Life's not going to be like it was. I'm starting to get used to the idea that life changes, something the Prophets tried to tell people a long time ago. Something else I learned from Brueggemann.

  2. OTOH, heard a story this morning about people not rushing back to shit jobs. One guy had worked "food service" for 26 years, since he was 16. The pandemic gave him the first chance in his life to think about what he wanted to do with it, and he didn't want to waste any more of it in food service. We have an indentured servitude in this country that's as hidden as our racism is now plain.

    Something else I learned from Brueggemann. And seminary. Damned Hebrew prophets really radicalized me.
