Dedication of the Notre Dame Organ
This is not organ playing to accompany a few people singing in the congregation. This is the organ presented as a musical instrument in its full power and its own right.
I have been fortunate enough to hear an organ properly played twice in my life. Like a symphony orchestra, the physical presence and force of the sound is as much a part of the experience as the music and the musicianship itself.
I will warn that there are two glimpses of Trump, knees spread on the front row. In the first appearance he looks like a dog whose master is trying to explain the doctrine of the Holy Trinity to him. The second time I’d swear he’s listening to one of his mixtapes.
TC’s commentary and notes are the lagniappe.
