This is how corporations settle lawsuits.
I’m tired of “Let’s you and him fight!” arguments. ABC can do what it wants. But I would offer that ABC got off lightly:
Democratic elections attorney Marc Elias noted that the "charity" described in news reports is "a presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for the Plaintiff."I mean, how long after hell freezes over is that gonna be? π₯Ά
Seriously. A presidential foundation and museum to be established at a date uncertain? Yeah, I think ABC will recoup the cost of that offer in investments before they pay out. If they ever pay out. Besides, where would it be built? On the back nine of a golf course? Atop a building no longer even named for Trump? And include what? A mock up of the baby blue AF1 Trump wanted? The original map he drew the hurricane’s path on? A model of the bathrooms at MAL, complete with boxes? Archives of all the Presidential documents taped back together?
Or near a prison where Trump might still end up if the courts agree the statute of limitations is tolled for four years?
I like ABC’s odds.
BTW, if this really was how democracies die, the American experiment would have ended in the ‘50’s. Corporate media was never any braver than this.
