(There’s a whole slew of these over there, people insisting HIPAA does things it doesn’t come close to doing. The funniest part is, the Feds have a HIPAA website which lays out in fairly simple terms what the law does, and doesn’t, do. You know, the kind of information the Internet is supposed to provide. Some people just don’t want their ignorance disturbed.)
And they prove you can’t fix stupid. Not sure you even need to. It’s pretty much harmless, in this form.
But they feel so smart saying HIPPA! Like they know what it is. Eschaton taught me how that's not just for the uncredentialed or the right wingers. It's pretty much well distributed.
