If you aren’t the parent of a daughter in the last 30 years, you’ve never heard of Claire’s. It markets cheap crap to young girls who want to play dress up in anticipation of puberty and “womanhood.” I think they also do ear piercings on children too young to know what they are doing, which is actually much more abusive (and common) than trans therapy (which is NOT abusive, but also much less common than MAGA wants you to think. Ear piercings concern me far more than trans therapy, which actually aims to help people. Ear piercings are just more rampant capitalism, now preying on babies.)
Claire’s sells costume jewelry and shit aimed at adolescent girls (not inappropriately so, unless you object to turning babies into consumers of plastic shit as early as possible), along with “beauty products” most women don’t need, and certainly babies don’t. There’s nothing sadder than seeing your adolescent daughter put on makeup for the first time, and think she looks “better” and “grown up.” Claire’s markets that crap and ideal.
My guess is the economy and tariffs caught up with them. Declining disposable income and rising cost of goods. And maybe pre-adolescent girls just moved on. Or, more hopefully, wised up. Capitalism really is all about the churn.
Either way, I have no idea what Claire’s is bitching about, except I’m glad my daughter is too old to ask me to buy crap for her there anymore Clearly they’re whiny MAGAts who got what they voted for and, like their Beloved Leader, refuse to take responsibility for their actions.
