Bill Moyers Speaks, You Listen

I've had the pleasure this morning of being able to listen to Bill Moyer's speak to "The National Media Reform Conference" in St. Louis, Missouri, this past weekend. It is a galvanizing speech, from a man now exactly known for his galvanizing demeanor. When Bill Moyers compares the current state of discourse on public issues to Orwell's Newspeak, he does so with an almost singular authority, because you know Moyers is not given to hyperbole.

This is a speech that deserves a wider audience; indeed, the widest possible. Democracy Now! has it on their website as a transcript and an audio file. It is worth listening to, just to catch Mr. Moyers' passion, and his righteous wrath.
