Trump told reporters he wore a mask in the "back area" of the Ford plant. Here's a photo of him in the back area of the Ford plant without a mask. pic.twitter.com/aAR6Sxljgz— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) May 21, 2020
He reflexively lies about the stupidest things.
And he REALLY wants to be sure this message gets out:
Looking at the front pages of nine Michigan newspapers this morning on https://t.co/qaL7bVl4ft, just one—Detroit Free Press—mentions Trump's threat to state absentee voting program. Coverage is focused almost exclusively on historic breach of Midland dam.— Michael C. Bender (@MichaelCBender) May 21, 2020
The President is doubling down on his threat to withhold federal funding from Michigan, claiming the state is engaging in voter fraud.— Weijia Jiang (@weijia) May 21, 2020
“We don’t want to have vote by mail,” he said, unless you have a “reasonable excuse”.
He would not answer what specific funds he may freeze.
Yesterday he said he wasn't going to do that.
A day in Trump reporting: the president now says of withholding federal funding to Michigan, which he threatened in a morning Tweet, "I don't think it's going to be necessary," per pool.— Annie Karni (@anniekarni) May 20, 2020
Well, "yesterday all the past," I guess.
“We got to get back to the rallies,” Trump said, per pooler @EliStokols . “I think it’s going to be sooner rather than later.”— Annie Karni (@anniekarni) May 21, 2020
Not in Michigan, I'm guessing:
Michigan AG @DanaNessel told @CNN @NewDay that if President Trump “fails to wear a mask, he’s going to be asked not to return to any enclosed facility inside out state”pic.twitter.com/rgOh3Tfvhv— Brandon Richards (@bjrich_) May 21, 2020
Or in Baltimore. Probably more than a few cities who don't want to see him anytime soon:
When Trump travels to cities for his events, whether official or campaign-related, he generally requires the city and state to foot the bill for his visits. In the case of one New Mexico town, Trump owes $211,175.94. Trump frequently sings the praises of law enforcement, he just doesn’t seem to want to pay them for working at his events.I'm thinking now is not the time for any city in America to carry those costs for the Grifter-in-Chief.
“When Lebanon City Hall sent Trump’s campaign a $16,191 invoice for police and other public safety costs associated with his event, Trump didn’t respond,” reported The Center for Public Integrity.
