Also known as:  "If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and swims like a duck...it's a duck."

Dan Patrick isn't "mirroring" any language.  He's using it.  He knows what he's saying.  He alone is responsible for saying it.  The only difference between him and the El Paso shooter is that Patrick isn't a homicidal maniac.

It's not enough of a difference to matter.
