Meanwhile, Behind The Scenes

"He has very clearly stated behind the scenes that he is the, uh, you know, that he has the fear of God," Decker explained. "You know, he's not there yet, as far as I'm concerned. I would love to see him... grow more of a conscience in a lot of areas, but I think he has a proven track record of being a good president and especially on abortion."
Very behind the scenes. Somewhere way behind “2 Corinthians.” I’d always understood in matters of ethics and soteriology (the one and only concern of the evangelical), that “close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.” But as long as he’s right on abortion; and, I guess, separating babies from mothers when both are brown and at the border, and tax cuts for the rich (what else did Trump accomplish?), I guess that’s good enough.

And pastors wonder why their congregation have turned from worshipping Jesus to worshipping Trump.
