This seems to be why Habba is being paid to be a lawyer; but one still asks her question: “Why?”NEW: Alina Habba has responded to E. Jean Carroll’s team’s proposals to ensure that Trump’s testimony, if any, does not implode this next trial. 1/https://t.co/DRQPC1Tgfy

Instead, she insists “President Trump cannot and should not be made to testify under oath in any particular affirmative manner.” Again and again, Trump accuses others of unlawful persecution while he flouts the rules by which every other American plays. pic.twitter.com/545qmHomUB

He’s not so much “flouting the rules” as getting his lawyers to demand he can.
I predict this demand will fall on deaf ears. The rules of evidence are clear. The Court of Appeals would reverse and order a new trial if the judge gave Trump what he wants.
Or the jury would be convinced he’s a raving loon.
Of course, Trump could just stay away. Maybe comfort his mourning wife; or go back to Scotland. If they’ll let him in.
