We’re Not Racist, We’re Just Misled

Slavery was about states’ rights. As was Jim Crow, the KKK, lynchings, church bombings, school segregation, military segregation, (yeah, I know, but “Jim Crow” is so vague and nebulous). Oh, and various bans on immigrants, like Nikki Haley’s family, who got in because those bans were lifted.

But we do still prefer to hear: “We’ve never been a racist country.” You can justly criticize Haley; but that’s still true.
