NEW: Kash Patel, Trump's pick to be FBI director, vows to seek revenge against the so-called Deep State, and he's cooked up a list of people to target—and it includes prominent Republicans. So not only Ds need to worry about his potential abuse of the FBI.https://t.co/PQtPxSxUFr

This line-up also includes a number of Republicans and onetime Trump appointees. These include Bill Barr, who served as attorney general for Trump; John Bolton, one of Trump’s national security advisers in his first White House stint; Pat Cipollone, Trump’s White House counsel; Mark Esper, a secretary of defense under Trump; Sarah Isgur Flores, who was head of communications for Trump’s first attorney general, Jeff Sessions; Alyssa Farah Griffin, the director of strategic commissions in the Trump White House; and Stephanie Grisham, former chief of staff for Melania Trump.
Kash Patel’s Bonkers Enemies List Doesn’t Just Target Democrats https://t.co/Sl1vsOQFnM

The list also includes John Bolton, an outspoken critic of the president-elect who once said Trump “can’t tell the difference between what’s true and what’s false,” and Mark Esper, Trump’s former secretary of defense, who said that reelecting Trump would put our “nation’s security at risk.”
Patel’s list mentions special counsel Robert Hur, who investigated President Joe Biden for mishandling classified documents but declined to prosecute because there was not enough evidence to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.
The list also included the names of Ryan McCarthy, a secretary of the Army under Trump; Miles Taylor, a Department of Homeland Security official under Trump; Charles Kupperman, a deputy national security adviser for Trump; and Sarah Isgur Flores, who was head of communications for Trump’s first attorney general, Jeff Sessions.I’m just noticing a curious silence from Capitol Hill about Patel and the FBI. Wray isn’t stepping down; Trump will have to fire him. How does that play in the Senate, where Patel has to go to get the office? Trump can’t appoint him as an interim; that falls to the deputy director. (Which is probably why Trump tried to put Patel in the second chair the first time around. Even Bill Barr said that would happen over his dead body.)
Remember when Shrub was going to do that? He was a lame duck President (second term), too. He never even got a hearing in the GOP Senate. And Trump doesn’t have anyone around him who knows how government works. So far, he doesn’t even have anyone around him. Gaetz was the first domino; Hegseth is only the fourth. (Both his nominee for White House Counsel and DEA head have fallen.) Plenty more to follow, and it’s not even Xmas yet. ðAnd Trump looks 'ready to touch the third rail' with politically toxic ideas: analysis https://t.co/JS2fAEMC3P
