Well, I assume she did. Probably loves her insurance, too. Doesn't everybody?A hospital cashier recently got a paycheck for 80 hours of work.— Sarah Kliff (@sarahkliff) November 8, 2019

I've been having a comment war with the fans of Sam Seder over whether or not the ACA is the worst thing ever. I asked them when they were ever without health insurance, none of them have offered the claim that they've ever had that experience. I'm guessing Sam never has been, son of a prominent Mass. lawyer, someone who quit law school to go into comedy, as he is. I suspect Michael Brooks has a similar background, he went to Bates which ain't cheap to get into. I suspect easily 90% of the play-left has never had to wonder how they'd financially survive an emergency appendectomy or fall.
ReplyDeleteAll the reports that people "love" their insurance are responses of "better the devil you know." They don't love their health insurance so much as they fear change; at least until the month of their 65th birthday, when they can buy Medicare. Which is why "Medicare For All" is still such a good label/idea.
