Sen. Dumbass is a Dumbass

Let's go to the text!

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.
According to the Office of Legal Counsel, the POTUS cannot be subjected to a "criminal prosecution."  Impeachment is not a "criminal prosecution."  This is clear from the plain text of the Constitution, and from case law.

And in a case involving a whistleblower, the "witnesses" are the documents revealed to the public.  Trump is not in trouble because of what the whistleblower said.  He's in trouble because the documents that were referenced have been released (by Trump) and the allegations of improper conduct/abuse of power have been substantiated by witnesses who are not anonymous nor protected from disclosure by federal law.

And impeachment of a President is set out in Art. I, sec. 2 and 3, and Art II, sec. 4.  You've heard of the Constitution, right?
