The vaccines still haven’t been approved. Next, they need to be manufactured. Probably the best distribution system will be chain pharmacies (Walgreens, CVS; and no, I’m not kidding). And none of this is likely to begin until spring, 2021. So how about you do the right thing and bring Biden’s people in on these discussions..@WhiteHouse Coronavirus Task Force had a 2+ hour call with Governors to review vaccine distribution plans after 2 HUGE announcements from Moderna & Pfizer. It’s not like you’re gonna be here in 3 months.
My understanding is CVS, Walgreens etc. have already invested in the super refrigeration equipment needed for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. The same goes for hospitals in places like NY. Other states, not so ready and rural hospitals don't have the resources. There is a huge logistical challenge to getting the vaccine distributed at these very low temperatures and then prioritizing who gets access to the vaccine. Us regular folks won't be seeing vaccines for many months.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I heard yesterday it will be late spring/early summer for most people. Hopefully it reduces this to a background disease, like influenza.
