That (coming in October) he, personally and individually, may well be found liable for fraud. And again early next year; although that will be criminal fraud.

And here’s where I point out that fraud, in civil law, presumptively involves moral turpitude. It is harder to prove than other torts because it is considered one of the most heinous of torts. So when you prove it, you have proven evil indeed. Fraud is what I call the “Iago” tort: it undoes the very bonds of civil society. It introduces chaos into order. That’s why the law takes it so seriously.

(Don’t sleep on the fact the documents case may well involve violations of the Espionage Act, too. Nothin’ but good times ahead!)
