Johnson, realizing his error, later corrected himself: “I know you think you understand what you thought I said but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant." In so many, many words;Q: Will you and Trump try to repeal the CHIPS and Science Act, which brings thousands of manufacturing jobs back to America?

Mike Johnson: I suspect that we probably will pic.twitter.com/wxggZDTeLg
Local media has already fact-checked this lie.

Here is what they actually had to say:https://t.co/HrZ7GzKNXY
"Repeal,” “reform,” they both start with “r,” and “form” is so close to “peal,” it’s easy to confuse the two words. Right?LIE: Mike Johnson said he will get rid of the CHIPS and Science Act with no plan.

TRUTH: Local media has already fact-checked this lie.
Here is what CNYCentral reports:
-Mike Johnson later said that he heard the reporter say “reform” not “repeal”.
Speaker Johnson later stated:
"As I have further explained and clarified, I fully support Micron coming to Central NY, and the CHIPS Act is not on the agenda for repeal. To the contrary, there could be legislation to further streamline and improve the primary purpose of the bill—to eliminate its costly regulations and Green New Deal requirements.”
Congressman Brandon Williams (in the background) also clarified the comments saying:
“I spoke privately with the Speaker immediately after the event. He apologized profusely, saying he misheard the question. He clarified his comments on the spot and I trust local media to play his full comments on supporting repatriation of chips manufacturing to America.”
Speaker Johnson has been clear that he is not opposed to the totality of the act but disagrees with the woke policies included in it.
"What we oppose to in that bill is that It had too much crammed into it – when you take the green new deal out of the equation you will save trillions of dollars in the long run,” Speaker Johnson said talking to the press.pic.twitter.com/vxHrjKiZLC
