Trump has announced that he is appointing Bill Pulte, the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), to serve as Acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI), following the recent resignation of Tulsi Gabbard. Unlike Gabbard, Pulte has never served in the military or in any aspect of the U.S. Intelligence Community.

In December 2025, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) announced that it had launched an investigation into Bill Pulte for his alleged use of his position as Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) to target political opponents of President Trump. Pulte had previously referred several of Trump’s largest critics, including California Democrats Rep. Eric Swalwell and Sen. Adam Schiff, New York Attorney General Letitia James and Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook, for “mortgage-fraud investigations” to the Justice Department.

Clearly he deserves the highest security clearance possible.  How could he ever be compromised? Or qualified?

Bill Pulte is one of the worst members of the President’s team and has convinced Trump to do more stupid stuff than anyone else in the past year. He’ll be driven to work in a very short bus each day.
