So, are the people now "flipping" to support Jordan:
not surprising that this comes from the messenger. but reporters are basically now calling anyone who doesn't or may not support Jim Jordan a "moderate".
...no longer "moderates"?
Is that how this works?
“The most likely path forward at this point, based on all available evidence, is that Jordan is very close to becoming the 56th speaker of the House,” Punchbowl News’ Jake Sherman reported Monday afternoon.
Is anybody really surprised? And I'm old enough to remember when Nancy Mace was considered a 'moderate.' Is she, still? Because at some points these words all lose their meanings.
Nancy Mace: My big problem with Kevin McCarthy is he didn't do enough for sexual abuse survivors
Also Nancy Mace:
Let’s give the American people what they want: Jim Jordan as Speaker
"He has cut a deal with Mike Rogers on Defense and he's cut a deal with Defense Appropriations," said McCaskill. "Those two members were absolutely anti-Jordan until he made them promises. Now, how are those promises going to play out with this crazy caucus? Because you know it's about helping Ukraine. You know it's about not shutting down the government. You know it's about not doing defense cuts. So, once again you find promises being made that will be hard to be kept within the chaos of the Republican caucus."
Or will Jordan even keep his promises? Does he know how? The famous statement from John Boehner (famous now, anyway):
"Jim Jordan especially, my colleague from Ohio," he replied. "I just never saw a guy who spent more time tearing things apart ― never building anything, never putting anything together."
This guy's gonna be Speaker of the House. As a yellow-dog Democrat, all I can say is: pass the popcorn.
And as long as we're passing popcorn down the seats, Trump is in Iowa again:
Moreover:The former President is sweating profusely and slurring his words through out his speech
While discussing the deaths in Israel, Trump is distracted by flies… he proceeds to talk about how you can’t buy fly paper anymore
Trump on deportations: If you’re a communist, Marxist, or fascist.. other than people who are already here of which many are in the Biden Administration, you’re disqualified. We’d like to get them out too. Maybe we’re work on that next
As soon as you get out of jail:
Trump: I’m willing to go to jail
We can accomodate you!
First Trump endorses Hezbollah. Then he calls the military "some of the dumbest people I've ever met," which is saying something given his sons.
Trump:
Trump in Iowa describes military officials as "some of the dumbest people I've ever met in my life" -- and gets big applause for it
Well, hey, Chutkan didn't say he couldn't trash the military. He just has to stay away from Milley. Guy's gotta have an outlet, right?
