Senator Podcaster Wants Attention

The head of the Republican Jewish Coalition is a squish:

Of note: “This will sound surprising, but by and large, the president has shown tremendous support, unwavering support, for Israel at a critical time,” said Matt Brooks, head of the Republican Jewish Coalition, speaking not of Trump but of President Biden

According to Ted Cruz:

It took days for Joe Biden to say the U.S. stands with Israel. 

I am glad that he finally said it, but it's important for Americans to understand why it took him that long.

Except it didn’t; Biden made a speech within hours. Ted was having none of it:

Nice try, fact-checkers, but the facts aren't on your side for this one. 

On 10/7, the U.S. State Department called on Israel to refrain from retaliating against the terrorists who were beheading babies and shooting concert attendees. 

On 10/8, Secretary Blinken called for a ceasefire and demanded that Israel refrain from self-defense. 

The Biden administration's lack of support for Israel is disturbing. 

BOTH statements were deleted after I called them out as outrageous.

This is is the text of the 10/7 tweet:

We unequivocally condemn the attack of Hamas terrorists and the loss of life that has incurred. We urge all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. Terror and violence solve nothing.

I guess this is what Ted thinks “Israel hating leftist activists sound like.  Or maybe they sound like this:

Turkish Foreign Minister @HakanFidan and I spoke further on Hamas' terrorist attacks on Israel. I encouraged Türkiye's advocacy for a cease-fire and the release of all hostages held by Hamas immediately.

It doesn’t say Israel can’t defend itself, and it does call for a release of hostages. Both tweets sound pretty reasonable to me.

Where’s the beef?

The fact is, Cruz used both of these tweets to promote his podcast. Is he a Senator? Or a podcaster?
