I am reminded by current events that, in May of 2013, I stayed at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. In a bedside drawer, where you might usually find a Bible, there was this. I was so struck I posted a picture of it at the time. pic.twitter.com/4nEzCZXsgH— Jillian Jorgensen (@Jill_Jorgensen) June 2, 2020
I await the Photoshop of that picture in front of the church. It would be more honest.
Not sure intentional, but so much of Biden speech is fodder for 65+ folks who believe presidents should act in a certain fashion and are grounded in the history of what Biden name-checked: JFK assassination, Jonas Salk, Ike, MLK cut down in Memphis, '64 and '65 civ rights bills.— Jonathan Martin (@jmartNYT) June 2, 2020
A) Biden is over 65, and trying to sound like a "youth" would be incredibly stupid.
B) Old people vote. Been true since at least giving the vote to 18 year olds. Still true today.
another blow to the it's-always-November-of-2016 mindset that says Trump is teflon despite any evidence to the contraryhttps://t.co/xKOJwqdYSI— Alex Burns (@alexburnsNYT) June 2, 2020
Trump's disapproval rating is currently 53.6%. His approval rating is only 43.9%. His disapproval rating topped his approval rating on about day 15 of his presidency, and that situation has never been reversed since. So what is this "teflon" you speak of, except the cowardice and spinelessness of the GOP in the Senate?
JUST NOW: "The President had to be explained to repeatedly over the weekend these protests were actually not just about him."@maggieNYT on @NewDay pic.twitter.com/ntiByv7E9a— John Berman (@JohnBerman) June 2, 2020
I imagine it was like trying to explain trigonometry to a dog; because clearly, he didn't get it.
