Sons Of The Best And The Brightest

And a reminder that 2024 is a long way off. "De-certifying" elections is not winning in the real world, despite the best efforts to invent evidence for which to do so. Trump may think he is setting up the future, but he is only tethering himself to the past. The past is an anchor, not the victory line. Abbott is looking for a defense on his right, from GOP  challengers. But this audit is as likely as the Cyber Ninjas effort to end with nothing changing. The more that happens, the less credible the demands for “extraordinary relief” become. The Arizona “audit” was the one most likely to invent “evidence,” and they couldn’t do it. They couldn’t do it because of the DOJ and the courts. There will be future attempts, but their energy is now failing; rapidly.

Trump really isn’t the player, much less the power, tout le Twitter (and Trump) want him to be.

(Stay tuned: Texas doesn’t have a Secretary of State at the moment. Abbott’s appointed quit after the Texas Senate declined to confirm her. The office of the SOS says they “expect” the Lege to fund the audit, which may be a case of wish in one hand, yada yada yada. I don’t doubt for a moment Abbott pushed this. I also have no doubt it won’t go very far.

Only 19% of Texans think vote fraud is common. Running on that issue may cause more people to vote against you than for you.

Then again, trying to kill people for freedumb doesn’t seem like a winning strategy, either.)
Rick and I agree. And yeah, the choice of counties was not accidental.
