I Can Almost Remember The Moment…

…I realized “impressive intellectual credentials” was just another way of asserting authority, which is to say, exercising power.  Often used to preserve the status quo; sometimes used to challenge it.  When elephants fight, the grass gets trampled.  No winners, IOW.

I’ve read the work of truly impressive judges. RBG was the last such judge on the Supreme Court. Scalia wasn’t fit to carry her bag. Not even in her league. The right-wing clowns on that bench now are impressive only as ideologues. Scalia could at least make people think he was clever, which was damaging enough.

    It's always good to note when something is satirical because in an age of total corruption, it's hard to tell it from what it's satirizing.
