The native Americans just quietly vanished, like smoke, for the sake of the white man. Slaves were happy to come to America and do the work. Immigrants, even non-white ones, were welcomed with open arms. And everybody was treated fairly and equally all the time, ever. From the New Hampshire Teacher Loyalty Bill…it “seeks to ban public school teachers from promoting any theory that depicts U.S. history or its founding in a negative light”

Imagine a generation of students educated under such guidance! https://t.co/78wFuuf7y6
The Civil War was just a minor misunderstanding between friends, and was not violent at all, or about slavery (which everybody gave up because it was time to, even though the slaves would miss it), and was indeed very civil.
Other than that we were just doing God’s will in the world, slaughtering godless heathens across the seas to bring them to the light of God’s love and special care. It was a hard job, but God chose us to do it.
Taking dictation from them, really.Just got this email from a Republican pic.twitter.com/eVB29DivgZ

Well, in other words history as taught by Hollywood, TV and the internet.
ReplyDeleteA niece who lives in New Hampshire tells me that it has one of the highest rises in Covid cases in the country just now, I haven't checked to see if she's right. It's full of Republican-fascists of the fascist variety. I don't know how many of the idiot legacies of those whose great, great, great granddaddies fought in the Civil War for the Union have that as an active part of their imaginations, I think that might have been overtaken by Hollywood in my generation, the rest is fascist.
NH currently has the highest infection rate in the country. Hospitalizations up 43%, test positive rate is 13.4%, which is awful. There are no ICU beds in the state and hospitals are using hallways for wards. The governor Sununu won't consider a mask mandate, even for the schools. The fully vaccinated rate stands at 55%, lowest for all of New England and even that number is suspect because there are indications that has been counting some booster shots as first doses instead. Add the efforts to attack the schools from every direction possible, and this state is just a mess.
