I Don't Think Joe Biden Is Going To Have This Problem, And Other Pithy Observations

I'm not sorry, either. I'm also quite happy to leave the final decision on whether or not DA Bragg made the right call to the legal system. That's what it's there for. "There's a sucker born every minute." I just think that bears emphasis. Trump not only doesn't know what he's talking about, he doesn't know how to talk. It really is just noises to him. Meanhile, back on Twitter: Begging the question: how will we know the difference? I guess this is how. An object lesson in how you've really got to think these things through. I was going to stop there, but the day just keeps getting funnier: Yes, there are MASSIVE infirmities with filing this suit in Florida, beginning with the fact Florida has no jurisdiction save that Trump lives there. Which ain't enough: (Sorry to be lazy; sometimes it's easier to let Twitter explain.) Trump thinks Bragg is relying on Cohen, so Trump is suing to punish Cohen for violating his attorney-client privilege (which I have no doubt was taken away by court order some time ago).  And doing it in Florida when none of the actions complained of took place in Florida. "That's not how this works! That's not how any of this works!" He's literally the blue-haired old lady pasting notes on her wall, and it ain't her Facebook wall. It's sad, the moths drawn to his flame. His newest lawyer in New York (who even Chuck Todd turned into mincemeat last Sunday) left his firm to open his own shop so he could represent Trump. Which means Trump is his only client, so he has to dance on Trump's strings just to stay in business. Somebody should tell The Donald his name wasn't legally changed to "President Donald." Also: not thinking things through. He's a joke.  He's a boob.  He's a laughingstock. And still we get this stuff: The First Amendment would like a word. Meaning, again: "That's not how this works! That's not how any of this works!" If libraries are where the wave breaks. it will restore my faith (such as it is) in humanity. Seriously. The libraries may be the last straw, but I think the fight was lost some time ago. And what is a "Bud Light product"? Anything sold by InBev? Or just associated with Budweiser? Because I may have to buy some Bud Light if this keeps up, where ordinarily I wouldn't touch it with a club. If it wasn't for Karbach (a local favorite, still), I wouldn't touch Anheuser-Bush products with a club, either. So, you know, I'm not really strict about this. Let us pause in life's pleasures, and count its many...joys. Yeah; the interest in specific documents is not to buttress an obstruction charge for hiding them from a search warrant. As emptywheel points out, you don't need that kind of evidence (who did he show it to and what did he show them?) for an obstruction charge. And as the sun goes down in the west, and Trump goes down in the mire of his own making, we bid a fond farewell to Twitterland, which is now a company named "X" and owned by a clownish small child in a middle-aged person's body, who still has tantrums: Defund Germany, too; right, Elmo? I think losing NPR is the least of Twitter's  X's problems. I'll freely admit I don't listen to NPR anymore because I grew up on the "long form" stories they used to specialize in (I never really forgave them for dumping Bob Edwards. Yeah, I go that far back. I remember when "Morning Edition" debuted, and he left "All Things Considered" to start it), and now the "news" seems the least part of their news hours; most of it seems overtaken with interviews for people who just released an album or a book or a movie and they must be spoken to a la the old "Tonight Show" format, and it bores shit out of me. Not to mention it's annoying. But for all that, Elmo is still a schmuck.

  1. We tried defunding Germany at Versailles, didn't work very well.
