Chuck Todd opens with the “inevitable” rematch of Trump and Biden. He has polls showing only 5% (his words) want Biden to run again. Fewer want Trump. So the horse race is stumbling out of the gate.
Because, you know, polls this far out from the election are powerfully predictive.
So he has Chris Sununu on to talk about it. Oh, and Mike Pence’s former chief of staff.
Sununu, BTW, thinks Todd has great polls and people should “listen to it.” But it’s also too far out from 2024, so Trump won’t be the nominee. But Biden can’t win! And criminal charges against Trump are political! But Trump won’t be the nominee! That’s his story and he’s sticking to it!
Sununu is talking like an auctioneer on speed, which is very weird.
I didn’t hang around to hear Pence’s former COS tell U.S. Republicans must embrace abortion. There’s only so much one can take.
