Everyone feels sympathy for Jackie. But we all cast suspicion on the woman, and quietly hold her more to account.
And then we complain about everyone else doing that.
RFK jr. is a philandering, Trumpian scumbag, she is a journalist who committed something of an ultimate journalistic sin of allegedly reporting on someone she was having it off with. Both are entirely legitimate reasons to criticize someone for for different reasons. Especially in the context of what RFK jr. has been trying to do, benefit by helping Trump back to power, both are far more serious than if it were next year when they decided to commit adultery together.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of warming up to the idea of making adultery a sin, again. There's good precedent for thinking of it in those terms.
