…that immigration judges are not Article III judges. They are part of the Justice Department, not the independent judiciary, and Trump has fired a fair number of them.
The Texas judiciary is not notably “liberal,” but the bulk of my brief but unspectacular legal career was spent in family law cases before Texas district court judges. No judge I ever appeared before would allow any child involved in proceedings to NOT be represented by at least a guardian ad litem, if not a court appointed attorney. It’s as unimaginable as a judge sitting on the bench stark naked.
And yet….
There are times when a decent person would quit rather than preside over a sick farce. This is one of those times.You’d think, wouldn’t you?
