So This Is Going On

NEW: Trump seeks emergency delay of AG trial as part of his appeal of the judge's order finding Trump liable for fraud.
The AG, of course, responded:
NEW: AG fires back a Trump's bid to halt trial, saying they've offered to hold off on moving to dissolve Trump's company as long as trial moves forward.
Basically, why upend a huge public trial when we can work something out? At any rate, Trump's args fail, AG says.
I really don’t see the Appellate Division freezing the trial in order to freeze the execution of the summary judgment, or freezing the summary judgment while carving out the trial to continue. The latter is tacitly ruling on the active trial, because the issues of the summary judgment are the issues of the trial.

I don’t see the Appellate Division putting its big thumb on that scale.
MORE: Seeking to halt trial, Trump argues:
Justice Engoron “clearly does not comprehend the scope of the chaos its decision has wrought,” saying terminating his business licenses… makes it "impossible" to operate his businesses and threatens termination of 100s of thousands employees.
I’m pretty sure the judge knows that. But now we know Trump knows how deep the shit is he’s standing in. Remember, count 1was fraud liability. The remaining trial counts are: what are the damages at law for that fraud? Shit just gets deeper the further they go.

Trump’s gonna wish he’d tried to settle this thing.
