I'm old enough to remember

...when this kind of shooting was unthinkable, and we credited the laws with making it so. Apparently the only solution is to arm still more Americans

  1. If the attacker had had a legal semi-automatic, I'll bet it wouldn't have taken only six seconds to disarm him or subdue him. And there would be dozens if not scores or more victims. Dead.

Our vague Constitution is killing us, as it's killing democracy.

    1. I don't blame the Constitution for this one. The burden, as always, is on "we, the people. No set of rules can be written that can't be warped out of recognition by people.

We didn't have this kind of madness for 2 centuries, and now we do. It's not the fault of the Constitution we decided it meant something it had never meant before.

That piece if paper is not what's killing us; we are. Same as it ever was.

  2. Maybe it's the dishonesty of the post-war conception of freedom removed from moral obligations that are to blame. But the language of the 2nd Amendment being clearer might have helped.

    1. It is the most poorly written sentence in the Constitution.
