To those upset with @SpeakerPelosi over the trade deal, the fact that McConnell won’t bring it up tells you why Nancy made the deal: Trump was desperate and she got major concessions for labor, while giving cover to her vulnerable members. GOP Judiciary members wanted to protect Nixon, too.— S.V. Dáte (@svdate) December 12, 2019
Of the 10 who voted against all three articles of impeachment, five saw their seats flip to Democrats.
Four were defeated outright. The fifth retired, and the Republican hoping to succeed him lost.https://t.co/ksl2jB0BSO

It would be the only good reason to short-circuit the trial. Of course, Dershowitz would contribute to Trump's trial precisely what he contributed to O.J.'s trial: absolutely nothing.
And on that subject, I really want to see McConnell convene the Senate for a trial with the Chief Justice presiding, and then call for a majority vote to say "Never mind, Not Guilty!" as quickly as possible. It would be worth more than one campaign ad.

No wonder Trump doesn't like FauxNoise anymore.
And about that whole "no crime" thing:
The president was named in a federal indictment as having directed his lawyer to commit a federal felony to cover up that affair from voters though. https://t.co/OuF486Uu5F— Jonathan M. Katz✍🏻 (@KatzOnEarth) December 12, 2019
That OLC memo has GOT to go!
And for those keeping score at home:
Trump, according to my count, is now up to 108 tweets or retweets today -- his all-time one-day record. We still haven't reached 3 pm DC time. https://t.co/Ox4H2FXyu7— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) December 12, 2019
Several of those he favorably tweeted himself. Not re-tweeted; he created a new tweet and embedded his old tweet in it, as if approving of what someone else had tweeted. There's got to be a term for that coming to the DSM sometime soon.
