Trump campaign is claiming Dr. Ronny Jackson's apparent win in a Republican runoff for a Texas House seat as a victory for the president.— Annie Karni (@anniekarni) July 15, 2020
"Clear testament to the power and value of President Trump's endorsement and support," says @TimMurtaugh
Kathaleen Wall ran for District 22 in Texas, earning a runoff against a local sheriff. She wrapped herself around Trump so tightly you'd have thought she was in love with him. I first heard of her because of her ads (she's not in my district) declaring she would do anything Trump asked (basically): build the wall, punish China (I kid you not), beat up protestors personally. Then she ran ads accusing her opponent of being complicit in the human trafficking that is a problem here in the Houston area. Really nasty, gutter level stuff.
She won 30% of the GOP primary vote in the runoff yesterday. Blanketed the airwaves with ads, wrapped herself in Trump like he was the flag itself, accused her opponent of being a human trafficker with families in ads who claimed he had dismissed their claims and refused to investigate, and she went down in flames.
I dunno what that says, but it says something.
