The First Question Is:

And I'm very serious about this: Does Tuberville know how to?

Courts run on rules of procedure.  Cross those rules, especially as a lawyer (who is supposed to know better) and you might not even get heard.

The Senate has rules, and Senators are bound by them the same way lawyers are bound by rules of procedure.  Tuberville can't claim the right to object without doing it according to Senate rules.  The Electoral Count Act doesn't override the way the Senate conducts its business.

Mitch McConnell is touted as a man savvy in the ways of Senate rules.  Tommy Tuberville, until January 3, has all the experience of a football coach.  He will be a U.S. Senator by January 6, but he'll be up agains the rules.  Can he even get permission to speak on the floor?  Can he force the Senate to hear his objections?  Does he know how to do that?

One thing is for sure:  he can't get anything passed.  He may (though I doubt it) force the Senate to debate the issue under the applicable law.  He'll never manage to get the Senate to vote in favor of his objection.  Whether he can even couch his objection correctly is, in my mind at least, in serious doubt.

Joe Biden is going to be the 46th President of the United States.  This election is over.

  1. Well, it's usually wrestling coaches with Republicans, isn't it? And that's worked out so well. I had heard he was a football coach, a profession I've compared to vampirism, considering they make big bucks by destroying the brains and health of young kids. I wonder what kind of sexual scandal he might have just under the surface. I'd bet there's financial scandal.
