Culture Is Not A "Thing"

It isn't a virus or a bacterium. It isn't a building or even a government. It is more than an idea, but far less than a movement.  It is more than a philosophy, but less than a commitment.

The only concrete definition of culture possible is to identify it with people.  So to call for the elimination of a culture, a real culture, not a phony one like "cancel culture" or "rape culture," is to call for the elimination of the people who embody that culture.

I don't care how great a scholar of the law you are, or how performative you are online:  this is a statement no different from calling for the elimination of Jews or blacks or Armenians.  It's a disgusting sentiment that, like racism, corrupts everything it touches.

  1. Harvard, the ivys and their associated universities and colleges in general, from whence this twig sprang, has always been in thick as thieves with eliminationist genocialists and scientific racists. I'd be surprised if he hadn't turned out the way he did.
