Trump's lawyer claims DOJ is lying about president not cooperating: He said 'anything else you need'https://t.co/cPmtopZRbr
"No, not that," said Parlatore. "But that he didn't try to cooperate. From the beginning, he has tried to cooperate. In fact, he had a meeting with the -- with the members of DOJ where he said, 'if there's anything else you need, let us know.' DOJ has taken a position of, you know, really an adversarial position on this, where as much as we want to cooperate with them, they would rather make this into an adversarial fight and try to make it into a criminal case. Had they handled it appropriately from the beginning, agreed to work with us, work towards making sure that we just get the documents and everything is, you know, put back into its place, this all would have been avoided. A lot of what you have here is an appearance of noncompliance, which is created by DOJ in the matter in which they have handled this."Off the top of my head: he resisted the NARA requests; failed to comply with a subpoena; pushed DOJ to execute a search warrant; challenged the search warrant all the way to the Supreme Court; forced a second subpoena to recover a folder his lawyer now says was being used to cover a light on Trump’s phone.
And the DOJ is misrepresenting this story?
(And did you notice how he re-hashed the entire lawsuit that the 9th Circuit threw out? Especially the “everything put back in its place.” Trump was reportedly pissed at the picture of files on the floor. He thought it made him look like a slob. Nothing original here, just more client service from a new Trump lawyer.)
