Are any vegetables not woke I wonder? What's the most racist vegetable?

In the Midwest vegetables are generally served in soup or in a salad (yes, a tomato is a fruit, but don’t start…). The basic attitude seemed to be vegetables were food their food ate. Four years of living there made me realize how much I ate vegetables.

(I distinctly remember finding only one restaurant in the St. Louis area that had vegetables on the menu. It was a chain based in Texas. Aside from us, it never did much business.)

So regionally veggies are controversial. I’m bemused to think of them as “woke.”  OTOH, the controversy is on-line only. But the internet’s primary purpose has become generating outrage, so it’s what we expect whatever the news is.
