“The Wages Of Sin Is Death”

Political party death, I mean. Consider:
"Republicans do not want to have this discussion," Setmayer added. "If I'm the Democrats, I'm going to go out and showcasing all the families in my district or state or even a national election that have had successful IVF pregnancies and say to them, I challenge Republicans to say that these children should not have had an opportunity at life. I mean, the extremism now is really beginning, I think, to sink in for some people, particularly women across this country who feel as though they are under attack. And they are. The rights of women in this country are under attack daily. And the Republican Party is at the helm of it."
Men AND women. IVF is seldom just the choice of one person, and is as likely to be due to male infertility problems, as female. Besides, both men and women want children. This is an issue that affects everyone of child bearing age, not to mention potential grandparents. There really aren’t many issues like that.

And yet the extremism of MAGA has wrought this. I wonder if even Alabama is unhappy with what they have done (court opinion cites a constitutional amendment approved by popular vote)? It’s also spawned a battle royale between Abbott and Paxton. They are separately fighting over primary candidates. Abbott wants those who supported his school voucher plan, re-nominated. Paxton wants those who voted to impeach him replaced. Those two categories have a lot of overlap, and it’s pissing off a lot of incumbents. It could also lead to GOP candidates too radical even for Texas voters. It’s happened before.

If that doesn’t do it, this will:
Nothing appeals to the masses like domineering, moralistic Puritanism. πŸ‘
