The Clown Car is Back

No, not that one; this one:

Soon after former FBI director James B. Comey testified that President Trump told him that he “hoped” the FBI would drop its investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, the president's personal lawyer flatly denied that accusation and said Trump “never, in form or substance, directed or suggested that Mr. Comey stop investigating anyone.”

But Donald Trump Jr. — the president's eldest son — seemed to confirm Comey's version of events in a Saturday interview on Fox News as he tried to emphasize the fact that his father did not directly order Comey to stop investigating Flynn.

“When he tells you to do something, guess what? There's no ambiguity in it, there's no, 'Hey, I'm hoping,'" Trump said. “You and I are friends: 'Hey, I hope this happens, but you've got to do your job.' That's what he told Comey. And for this guy as a politician to then go back and write a memo: 'Oh, I felt threatened.' He felt so threatened — but he didn't do anything.”

Trump also said that Comey's testimony “vindicated” the president and that everything in it was “basically ridiculous.”

“I think he's proven himself to be a liar in all of this. I think he's proven himself to be a dishonest man of bad character,” Trump said.

Jr. couldn't mean his father, who spent years claiming he had evidence Obama was born in Kenya; or whose own bankruptcy lawyers met with Trump in pairs, to be sure there was a witness to Daddy's lies, or the writer who wrote a book on Trump and also had witnesses with him at all times.  Right?

Of course, the real take-away is that Donny Jr. thinks he's defending Daddy by saying it happened, but it didn't mean what Comey said it meant.  Like when the gangster in the movie says "Nice place you have here, be a shame if anything were to happen to it," he's just urging the business owner to be sure he has enough fire insurance.  Right?

And when Trump says Comey's leaks will 'be far more prevalent than anyone ever thought possible," isn't he saying Comey has set the narrative, and Trump is losing?

The acorn never falls far from the tree.....

(and speaking of "cowardly", guilty dog always barks loudest):

Trump reportedly told British Prime Minister Theresa May that he does not want to visit later this year unless he has the support of the British public.

According to the Guardian, the president made his intention to stay away in a phone call with May, saying he does not want make the trip if in light of plans for mass protests against him

The report states that May was surprised by Trump’s remarks.
Brave, brave Sir Robin!

  1. The kids are as stupid as their father. Can these people read? Even what they write, themselves?

Though, honestly, considering some of the responses I get from the degreed and conceited, online, there's a lot of that in the TV educated generation.
