After nationwide George Floyd protests and support for Black Lives Matter, I don't think Democrats were beaten by a slogan. I think they're failure was in seizing the power of Floyd/BLM narrative. The Democrats do seem to think demographics is destiny. But then, why did major portions of the Valley in Texas vote for Trump, when they went for Clinton in 2016? It's statistically impossible! A one in a quadrillion chance!
It would help, though, if they'd find the right cause of the problem. "Defund the police" was not the problem.
