Still Unclear About The Concept

Returning to the baseline question "My death; is it possible?",  I would point out this guy is threatening to blow up the truck he's in; but he's also expecting his actions to lead to Trump recovering the Presidency and pardoning this guy for: threatening to blow up his truck in front of the Library of Congress.

I don't understand how both can happen.  But he does, because imagining his own death is simply impossible.  Behaving rationally is, too; but this guy is acting out his own little fever dream.  Not really any different from the guys who went into the wilds of West Texas almost thirty years ago to declare themselves "Just Us" (yes, that's what they called themselves) in one of the early "sovereign citizen" attempts.  Or David Koresh in Waco, or Randy Weaver at Ruby Ridge, or Timothy McVeigh in Oklahoma City.

Or Dylann Roof; or Patrick Crusius, the alleged Wal-Mart shooter in El Paso; all of whom thought they'd spark the "revolution," or at least change the world.  What they didn't understand was the death of others, or themselves, is something that soon closes over, like water over a stone.  Even the ripples don't disturb that many people all that much.

Adding:

Just after I wrote this I found that the suspect had surrendered, and so far no evidence has been found of a bomb nor of any four other bombers anxious to blow themselves up somewhere in D.C.  It's a good outcome when everyone walks away.
