The Best Laid Plans…

The sheriff of Bexar County (San Antonio) is investigating the flight from San Antonio to Martha’s Vineyard. There may or may not be crimes involved, but if there are his reach extends to Florida. He’s also right: whether or not it’s criminal, it’s wrong.

And DeSantis needs to work on his response to this story. Abbott is a broken record; “Biden needs to secure the border.” DeSantis?
In response to a request for comment, Jeremy Redfern, DeSantis’ deputy press secretary did not answer with words.
Instead, he emailed a screenshot of a news story with the headline: “Bexar County Sheriff Salazar says Biden admin’s handling of immigration ‘isn’t working.’ “
Abbott is at least punching up, and trying to focus the conversation. DeSantis is punching down and keeping the conversation about him.

And you gotta admire the Miami Herald for ending the article this way:
No migrants who crossed the border Sunday in Eagle Pass, Texas, told the Miami Herald they wanted to go to Florida. Instead, most hoped to travel to New York.
They spoke of a dangerous journey to the United States and an uncertain future now that they’re here.
None had the money for a $50 bus ticket to San Antonio, the nearest city.
Advocates say that makes them easy prey for scammers.
Scammers like…? Yeah, the people the sheriff is investigating.

Meanwhile, in another part of Florida Brooklyn the country:
There's a bit more to it (of course there is): So Trump has to argue why a Rule 41 motion can’t be heard according to the Rule. Which is something his lawyers should have thought about before filing their…whatever-it-is… in Cannon’s court.

Trump has the lawyers he deserves. And the funniest part is, he’s already complaining the SM is moving too fast. But this is what he asked for.
The strategy here is more than a bit unclear.
I can’t wait for the appellate brief tomorrow.
Yeah, this is the guy I want representing us on the world stage again.
