Why in God’s name would some Republicans in Congress threaten to default on our debt if we don't agree to their Social Security and Medicare cuts?
Sen Scott pooh-poohs the idea that he is serious. Would Congress sunset the Navy, he asks rhetorically? Then why go through the empty gestures? In my plan, I suggested the following: All federal legislation sunsets in 5 yrs. If a law is worth keeping, Congress can pass it again.
They don’t mean it to happen. They just mean it to happen.
No wonder they squealed like stuck pigs and claimed Biden “baited” them.
