She can’t do that (history is history), but apparently it makes her feel better to think she can. (Yes, she has to make this argument in order to validate her ruling, but rolling it back to her fiasco is lagniappe. And soothing to her ego.)
Lisa Rubin points out an opinion this long was probably months in the making. So who’s to say she hasn’t been stewing over her reversal since it came down?
